I am a Colorado native who loves to do a lot of fun things in and around Denver. I studied Business at Colorado State University (go Rams!) and Teaching English as a Second Language at the University of Kansas (rock-chalk-Jayhawk!). I enjoy experiencing other food, cultures, people, and places, and have lived in South Korea, Japan, and Mexico. And, my husband is from Bolivia so I have spent a lot of time there too! I love working at the Colorado School of English and learning as much from my students as they learn from me.
I was born near Denver, grew up in Texas, then moved back to Colorado after graduating from college. I've lived here most of my life, but have traveled all over the U.S. and to several countries. I've been teaching ESL since 2010, when I went to China to teach high school students. Later, I went to Japan and taught university students for three years. I also tutor students from all over the world online and have a certificate in TEFL. Additionally, I have a master's degree in Library Science, and was a librarian for seven years before I started teaching. I am an avid runner and hiker, and an experienced backpacker. I also love to knit, read and drink coffee! It is my mission to empower students to confidently pursue their educational goals and to have fun along the way. I'm so happy to be here and I look forward to meeting you!

I am originally from Hopewell Junction, NY, which is 1.5 hours north of NYC. I have also lived in Arizona, California, Minnesota and South Korea. Currently, I hold a BA in English Literature from Northern Arizona University and I am conducting compositional research to complete my MA in TESL from St. Cloud State University. I love working with students from other cultures and believe education is a means to personal empowerment - no matter the subject. I love seeing my students gain confidence in using English, as well as learning about their cultures, personal stories and experiences. I have been married since 2005 to my wife Sarah and we have one daughter Nadia and are expecting another daughter this November.

“I was born and raised in Colorado for 17 years, from there I moved to California and again to Arizona. However, Colorado was home so I found myself right back here 4 years later. I enjoy long walks on the beach, or up a mountain. When I’m not working, my hobbies range from avid concert going to escaping to a secluded spot in the wilderness for a weekend of camping. When I am working, I love going on Friday Activities and talking with everybody, learning more and more about different cultures around the world. Stop by and say hello!”
I'm an ESL teacher and volunteer. I have a bachelor's in philosophy and have enjoyed wondering about things here and abroad for the past eleven years. Most of my time abroad has been in Asia; including China, South Korea, Japan and Hong Kong. I have a certificate in teaching English as a foreign language. I get true satisfaction out of seeing students succeed and have met some incredible people along the way. I love reading, playing Go, being in the sunshine and training my dog, who already has a clear understanding of at least three English expletives.

I was born here in Denver, but I grew up on the north side of Atlanta, Georgia with my family. While living in Georgia, I attended Georgia State University where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Applied Linguistics and a TEFL Certificate to teach English. I worked abroad in Panama in various teaching positions, and while I was abroad, I found my passion for teaching. I enjoy working at CSE because I have met so many wonderful people from all over the world, and I enjoy learning about different cultures. In my free time I love to hike, snowboard, paddleboard, and explore new places. Living in Colorado is great because I love the outdoors, and I live an active lifestyle.
My father named me Ameir so I could be considered a true Ameirican. Huh? I'll just let that sink in, savor it. You're welcome. When I'm not tormenting students with poor attempts at humor, you can find me in the saddle biking from one large body of water to another. A few of my favorite things include: coffee, fast food, thrift store shopping, playing chicken with cars, and procrastinati..
